More than just Help Desk and Updates... - Thursday, August 14, 2008

CMAWe like to think that your "Constructor Maintenance Agreement" (often referred to in the past as "Support") is something of an investment by you in one of the most valuable tools your company has.

Conversations amongst many builders, especially come renewal time, often strays down the track of "well I hardly ever call you" or "I didn't want the last update anyway..." - this is disturbing to us.

Keeping your Constructor Maintenance Agreement active gives you so much more than just help desk calls or updates.

Over the years, there are so many factors out of all of our control that could greatly impede your ability to use any mission critical business tool such as Constructor.

Things like failed hard drives, flooded server rooms, burglaries, lost laptops, "updated" operating systems, ever increasing hard drive and processing capabilities of computers, the Internet, I could go on all day.

None of these things have anything to do with Constructor or any other piece of software for that matter, but without access to information, replacement software and all the assistance that goes along with it, your software could be completely out of date, or useless within a fairly short space of time.

This topic was discussed briefly at our user group meeting earlier this year and a recent blog post (here on this site) was an attempt to re-iterate the importance of this.

We will continue to try to impress the importance of the CMA to your business.

We also hear occasionally that the annual CMA fee can sometimes come a bit out of the blue for some companies and is not always easy to pay quickly. In response to this, we have made arrangements to pay monthly, via direct debit.

We are hoping this will be a very easy way for builders to cover their annual CMA payments,  without any major cashflow impact.

Call us now to arrange monthly direct debits for your CMA payments (Ph (03) 5221 4900)
